A STORY FOR YOU

Letter To My Visitors

— By Marianna Julia

I’m trying to find the right words to present Marianna Julia and her journey, but it’s not that easy. However, sharing from the heart and writing have always been my strong suits. So, guided by my impulse, as always, here’s what I have to say:

My name is Marianna. I was born and raised in Athens, specifically in Peristeri, Attica.

In my family, there was always admiration for the arts, but not much encouragement or support. Nevertheless, I was always that curious child who dabbled in everything, which is why I showed strong artistic tendencies from a very young age.

At the age of 6, I started dancing; at 8, I sold my mother's jewelry in our neighborhood; at 11, I began piano and classical music lessons; at 13, I composed my first musical piece; at 14, I created a school newspaper with encyclopedic content; at 15, I was a member of a music band; and at 16, I participated in a Gymnastics and Acrobatics Festival in Sweden with the Ariadne club.

Just as seeds will not blossom if they are not sown in fertile soil, so too do people need the right environment to grow.

The Journey

Thus, this path, which was clear from the beginning, was interrupted. However, life has a unique and persistent way of revealing what you truly are, regardless of how much you try to ignore it.

So, having abandoned my initial impulses as a child, thinking, as did my environment, that I was simply playing and that 'it would pass', my soul led me to other, secondary forms of creation.

In 2013, I began creating metal jewelry and participating in art exhibitions, while simultaneously studying Interior Architecture at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. Later, I attended design courses at the Politecnico di Milano, where I lived for a year and a half.

Upon returning to Athens in 2018, I began studying acting. Initially, I took classes at the National Theater with Katerina Gavala, then I participated in Demidov technique workshops with Mrs. Vicky Georgiadou, and finally, I attended classes at the Theater of Changes.

Today.

Then, I attended set design workshops with Ms. Maria Chaniotaki and participated in her team’s set design project, which was presented at the Prague Set Design Festival in 2023.

At the same time, from 2019 onwards, I designed spaces such as hotel rooms, residences, and commercial areas. Additionally, I created jewelry collections, some of which were featured in art exhibitions.

All this exploration ultimately paved the way towards music and the performing arts.

After a long journey, I discovered improvisation, not only in music but also in dance, theatre, and performance. Improvisation is closely related to intuition and the practice of following your instincts in each moment.

Today, I am honored to have been accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. Excited for this opportunity, I dream of continuing my exploration of musical art and further developing my skills at this prestigious institution.

You will see that my motto is "Follow your Intuition, your Vibe." I went through a long journey to finally arrive at what has been present in my life since childhood but was overlooked. Don’t make the same mistake. Don’t waste any more time. Your "this," meaning your intuition, your soul, will not let you be at peace.

If you’ve read this story to the end, it means you resonate with it.

So, don’t forget to listen to your soul today.

With Love,

Marianna Julia
